Of course it is possible to treat all instruments with disinfectants. However, we do not know what the chemical composition is in detail and what effect these chemicals have, especially when used several times. Therefore we recommend to use spirit or "alcohol from the pharmacy" as disinfectant or as a cleanser, because we have made good experiences with spirit here in our company.

In principle, the entire play group should wash their hands thoroughly with soap before playing the instruments.

Furthermore, the instruments can be disinfected as follows:

We consider the most important measure to be cleaning the mallet sticks with spirit or alcohol. To do this, fill a container with spirit, dip the beating styles in it and finally dry them with a cloth (for single use).

Small instruments (such as triangles, shakers, maracas, etc.) should also be wiped with a cloth soaked in spirit (for single use).

The bars of xylophones, metallophones, resonator bars etc. can also be cleaned with a cloth soaked in spirit (single use). However, bars with printed notes must not be treated, as the printed colours will come off. This must be observed for the following instruments:

Printed notation in colour (black) for resonator bars KBN No. 1 - 34

Printed notation in colour (red) on resonator bars KB/SAX No. 1 - 25 as well as on the xylophones with Grillodur resonator bars model SXG 1000, AXG 1000 and BXG 1000 and the corresponding chromatic additions.

Printed notation in colour (blue) on the resonator bars KB/SAM No. 1 - 25

With all these instruments, wipe carefully around the notation!

Skin instruments

The corpus of the skin instruments can also be wiped with a cloth soaked in spirit. For the skins, the cloth should not be soaked too much in spirit to prevent the skin from softening too much.

We hope you all stay healthy and wish you a lot of fun playing the instruments.
